It is hard to believe summer is half way over! KRA has been lively with social gatherings, swim and dive meets, tennis lessons and adult leagues, and the ever popular limeades and moose tracks!
Congratulations to the Swim Team for incredible wins over rivals, Westwood and CCV, in the last few weeks! The Swim Team finished the season 4-2, and many thanks to Amy and Frank Moore for their leadership and tireless efforts as Swim Team Reps! Also, appreciation goes to Laura Walton and Tracy Collier, who assisted Amy and Frank. The Dive Team finished the season undefeated at 5-0, and thank you to Sarah Branch and Amy Ford for all of their hard work as Dive Team Reps! Both teams have Championship Meets this week, so please wish all participants good luck!
Membership directories are available at the pool so please pick up your copy. If you haven't gotten your copy, ask the gatekeeper the next time you sign in to the pool. Many thanks to Mary Ann Taylor for stepping in after Board retirement to coordinate the directories this year!
As mentioned in the last update, the KRA Board has been planning for the lap pool renovation. In talking with various members, there seems to be a concern that there would be an assessment or large dues increase tofund the effort. I want to make sure everyone knows that there are NO plans for an assessment or large dues increase. KRA is financially sound and able to borrow funds at low rates, so there are no plans for an assessment. Please feel free to call any of the Board members for more information on this project.
KRA would also like to get your input when we send out a survey over the next few weeks. Please be on the lookout and provide constructive feedback so we can make KRA the best it can be for the membership.
Lastly, there are too many people to thank for all of the volunteer hours our members provide for the betterment of KRA. Please take a moment to thank them for their hard work, and if you are interested in being more involved, let us know. Also, a shout out to our lifeguard staff who have endured the heat and made KRA safer and cleaner for all of us!
Enjoy the rest of the summer!
